Voices of Unity
Classical education is a time-tested, holistic approach to learning that dates back to ancient Greece and Rome. It focuses on three main stages of intellectual development known as the trivium:
Classical education is designed to cultivate critical thinking, clear communication, and intellectual curiosity while developing moral integrity. It draws from classic literature, history, and philosophy, emphasizing a well-rounded education that prepares students to be thoughtful, informed, and virtuous citizens.
This model is seen as particularly effective for fostering a love of lifelong learning and providing a deep understanding of subject matter.
Unity Classical serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, providing a comprehensive, classical education experience for elementary and middle school students.
Unity Classical believes in fostering character development and personal responsibility through a positive behavior system. We focus on teaching respect, responsibility, and integrity, using both traditional and restorative practices to guide students.
The curriculum at Unity Classical is based on the Core Knowledge Sequence, which builds a strong foundation in subjects like literature, history, math, and science, with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving. We also integrate Singapore Math and emphasize classical languages like Latin.
Unity Classical provides a range of student services, including special education, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. We create individualized education plans (IEPs) to support each student’s unique learning needs.
Unity Classical has a mandatory uniform policy to promote unity and minimize distractions. Students are expected to wear school-approved attire, which can be purchased from our designated vendors.
