Important Announcement – Morning and Afternoon Carpool
Dear Unity Classical Families,
We are writing to inform you that our crossing guards have quit due to ongoing aggressive and disrespectful behavior from a small minority of parents during carpool. Yesterday, three parents, in particular, pushed our guards to their breaking point: two parents used foul language toward our crossing guards, and a third parent exited his vehicle to physically intimidate the guard after being asked to stop. Per our parent-student handbook, “in order to support a peaceful and safe School environment, the School cannot tolerate… using loud/or offensive language, swearing, cursing, using profane language, or displaying temper on or in the sight of campus.” Furthermore, our handbook states that there are consequences for these behaviors and therefore, if anybody knows who these parents are please let us know immediately.
This behavior will not be tolerated and is not welcome here. At Unity Classical, we strive to model respect and dignity for our scholars, and we expect the same from parents. Our staff, including crossing guards, work to ensure the safety of your children, and they deserve to be treated with the same respect we teach and expect from our scholars.
We ask all parents to uphold the values we instill in our students—respect, kindness, and responsibility. Your cooperation in creating a respectful environment is essential.
